Episode 40: Nokia N9 giveaway, iPhone 4S launch and Kiwicon hackers event

In this episode we further discuss the Nokia N9 and are giving it away to a lucky listener (entry details below).

Skip reports back on the happenings at NZ hackers event Kiwicon. Apple’s iPhone draws more attention this week – with an interesting security issue (video below) and the launch of the iPhone 4S by both Telecom and Vodafone. Also on the agenda is ITEX – described as the IT industry’s ‘Big Day Out’.

To win the Nokia N9 (RRP $999) you’ll need either a Facebook account or a Twitter account. If you post on both then you’ll get double your chance of winning. Here’s what you should do:

  1. Facebook: Post a message on Facebook.com/NZTechPodcast mentioning what you like about the Nokia N9 (You’ll need to ‘like’ our page if you haven’t already).
  2. Twitter: Follow @NZTechPodcast, then post this tweet: Since the @NokiaNZ #N9 is such a cool phone I’m entering the @NZTechPodcast competition to win one. Join in… http://pspa.in/su2RuZ
  3. After doing either (or both) send us an email to us at competitions@nztechpodcast.com confirming your name, address, phone number and including a screenshot of your Facebook post and/or tweet on Twitter.

How do you find out if you’ve won? The announcement is made directly on the NZ Tech Podcast. In order to win you must listen in to each episode (and promptly!). If we haven’t heard from the first person whose been drawn by the time we record the next podcast episode – then we draw another name (and the first person misses out on the prize.

NZ Tech Podcast: Episode 30

This week the main topics were Steve Jobs resignation as Apple CEO, NZ’s 3 strikes copyright bill, HP TouchPad giveaway, cheap iPhones, new Vodafone Business Smart plans, Microsoft Tech-Ed and the new Windows 8 Explorer ribbon.
